• Question: why do snails leave a snail trail?

      the trail is dried up mucus, snails and slugs produce mucus which helps them slide along more easily and helps them get around, it also helps stop them drying out in the sun., or if they crawl over something dry

      as they don’t collect the mucus it’s left behind as a silvery trail
