      I would say look for some books on the subject, and try to get out and find some interesting geology near where you live

      If you really enjoy it, look to study geology or related subjects (such as geography) at school, at GCSE or A-level, then you can move on to university

      always remember that you can be an amateur geologist with no actual qualifications, you just need some information and drive to do it!

      Simon is absolutely right! Great advice!

      Have a look at the British Geological Survey and Geological Society of London websites, they have lots of information about what geology is all about!

      I took sciences at GCSE and A-level and that allowed me to study geology at University.
