It would mean the end of life as we know it, very rapidly the earth would freeze without heating from the sun, all the plants would die, quickly followed by the animals, the seas would slowly freeze solid (or nearly solid) and apart from bacteria and life in deep undersea vents, pretty much all life would be wiped out!

As Simon says, we really, really need the Sun. Pretty much all of the energy on Earth comes from it (minus a little bit from the heat of the Earth’s core).

Luckily it’s not going anywhere any time soon.

Simon and Angus have got this covered!

The asnwer is really that simple, if the sun dies, we do too!

We depend completely on the sun, so as the others said, we would definitely die.
