• Question: what type of rock are meteorites/asteroids?

      mostly they are made from similar materials to rocks on earth (Silicon, calcium, oxygen) although others are made of metal, and mostly contain iron and nickel

      Agree with Simon’s answer.

      But just to add that some asteroids have ice on them (ie 24 Themis ) and it’s thought that the asteroid that created the moon brought the first water to Earth!

      Simon and Hannah are absolutely right.

      Just to add that there are four types of asteroids: C type, D type, S type and V type. They are different because of what they are made of and also because of where they are come in the Universe.
      There are also three different types of meteorites: stone metorites, iron meteorites and a mix of stony-iron metorites.
