• Question: what is the best part of your job at the moment

      Right at the moment, my very favourite part is taking part in I’m a scientist, get me out of here! I’m really looking forward to it getting under way, and have enjoyed the questions so far!

      Right now, I am experiencing the best part of my job – which is being a ship in the middle of the Pacific, drilling into the sea floor to recover records of marine mud that will tell us about the climate of the Earth over the last 10 million years!

      I have made quite an interesting discovery at the moment. My computer model results are really interesting and not how I expected, so I am trying to work out what’s happened! I like this because it’s creative work. Every now and then a random idea comes to me, so I write it down and I test it later.

      The fact that I’ve got quite a lot of tasks going on at the same time! I’m really excited to be taking part in I’m a Scientist, but I’m running some exciting experiments at the same time and I’m writing a report about some samples I worked on earlier on in the year!I’m also starting a blog about Earth Sciences. It’s a busy few months but few other jobs would allow me to be involved in so many different but equally exciting projects!
