• Question: What came first the chicken or the egg?

      The egg, simple as that!

      evolutionary biology tells us that chickens evolved from chicken-like ancestors, one of those laid an egg one day, and out hatched a chicken!

      As Simon says, something very much like a chicken laid an egg. DNA mutates during reproduction, so the not-chicken egg hatches into an actual chicken!

      If we are talking about a chicken as we know today, then yes, the egg.

      If we can extend the term chicken to chicken-ancestors then I think we can argue it either way!

      It’s still a great saying though. 🙂
