I have a list of people, Robert Hooke, James Watt, Marie Curie, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Richard Feynman, Carl Sagan….

asking me choose just one is like asking me to choose between children! they are all inspiring and incredible people who have changed the way we live today!

If I could go back in time I would like to meet John Tyndall, who did a lot of work on the absorption of radiation by different gases in the atmosphere. He did an experiment to show that carbon dioxide absorbed radiation, which is how we know it warms the Earth up.

I’m not sure how fun Tyndall would be though. Richard Feynman, on the other hand, would be lots of fun!

Einstein seems like a great character! I think I’d like to invite him round for a dinner party.

On a serious note, I’d really like to meet Alfred Wegener, who orignially came up with the theory of plate tectonics. He really struggled to get his voice heard so I’d like to hear what being a scientist was like back at the start of the 20th century.

I heard that Alfred Wegener was apparently a really nice guy and fun to talk with. Alexander von Humboldt, one of Germany’s greatest natural scientists, would certainly have some awesome stories. I should not be anyone too intelligent, otherwise I might not even be able to communicate with them 🙂
