I’ve been on holiday to Hawaii (U.S.A) and thought is was an incredible place, the geology is amazing and there is so much more to do besides the rocks (snorkeling and surfing there is incredible!). The people are very friendly and really chilled out. I think I’d like to live there.
However, there are soooo many places I’ve not been too yet, that I might well change my mind!
When I went to Denmark I was very impressed! Their society is very supportive and friendly, and their cities have plenty of cycle lanes :). Copenhagen seems like a really nice place to live, and they have a good university where I could keep doing science.
Difficult question – it should definitely have some mountains (I like mountains!), should have warm summers and snowy winters, and either an ocean or lakes to swim in. I guess the UK does not really have very warm summers, and the sea is a bit cold to swim in (at least up in Newcastle). Sweden would be pretty nice, they also have a very good social system and childcare facilities, not a lot of crime, friendly people that all speak English, and a lot of nature. I also really like Austria and the northern part of Spain.
I love living in the UK, but I would like a warmer climate. I used to live in Spain, and would love to go back. Not just for the warmer climate, but for the mountains, forests and sea. And for the surf!
