  No. I actually gave up my job as an environmental consultant to do my PhD. I was paid about 20% as an environmental consultant than I am now. I realised it’s not just about what you get paid, but whether you are happy doing your job. I’d always wanted to do research, so I decided to go for it, despite the pay cut!
