you don’t actually *need* any, a passion for your subject and some knowledge from your teachers and parents, books, TV or the internet is all you need, qualifications help as they demonstrate that you have learned all the right things to do a job, but they are not strictly necessary

it is fun to learn however so it’s definitely a big help to obtain some qualifications in your chosen field!

      Everyone can be a scientist!

it just depends on what scientist you want to be. This is why I want to spend the £500 prize money on the “I’m a FUTURE scientist” app, so people like you can find out what science job you would like and how you can get qualified.

You can be a scientist from the moment you deicde to investigate things in a scientific way. This means checking for evidence before you decide something is true – like a detective!

If you want someone to pay you to be a scientist, you will probably need some kind of science degree from a university.

I agree with the otther scientist!
You are a scientis the minute you take interest in the natural and physical world around us and what to know more about it.

Like Angus says, if you want to get paid to be a scientist you will need at least A-levels in science related subjects and probably some higher education training, but I’m not sure it has to be a science degree. I would imagine there are higher ed courses out there that would allow you to be a technician in a lab or similar.
