• Question: how manytimes in science have you notfollowed your guidlines and somethings gone wrong???

      Oh, many times! Scientists make mistakes all the time. This is normal – it’s what humans do. Of course, science is no good unless it’s done exactly right, so we need to check our results many, many times to make sure they are right.

      I guess I should get the boring bit out of the way first. You ought to follow the guidelines. Having said that, I don’t always :s! Sometimes it’s because I’m short on time and I think I can do something different. Sometimes it’s because I find a better way of doing something. Luckly, nothing has ever gone really wrong when I’ve not follwoed the guidlines, I’m not sure my boss would be too happy :)!!!
      I would always follow guidleines if I thought that not doing so would be dangerous.

      sometimes you follow the guidelines and things can go wrong too! it depends on who wrote the guidelines really!

      I’ll echo Laura here, you should always follow any guidelines you have! they exist for a good reason
