• Question: Have you ever seen anything which defies the laws of physics?

      By their very definition, the laws of physics cannot be broken or defied!

      I’ve seen things which *appear* to defy the laws of physics, but there is always a rational, scientific explanation!

      As Simon says, the laws can’t be defied. If they’ve been defied, they’re not laws. Although sometimes when I see how much PhD students can eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet I think some kind of law must have been broken…

      I guess I agree with the other guys. But as scientists, we might actually be a little bit biased when it comes to explaining things that are strictly speaking unexplainable. Simply because we are so convinced that everything has to follow the laws of physics, we might actually be blind to alternative explanations sometimes.
