Interesting question. We all tend to develop different preferences for a whole range of things: food, music, books, films, interior decoration…

I believe quite a bit of research has been done into how food preferences are basically set up in childhood. People don’t like new things, and so if they aren’t introduced to new things in childhood they tend not to like them.

I used to really hate tomatoes and mushrooms, but I really wanted to like them. For a while I just used to eat them anyway and soon enough I got used to it and now I LOVE them. So I think we just like what we are used to.

I agree with Angus, I also think that we can train ourselves to like foods, much as Angus did!

My mum says when I was a baby I was like a little bird, my mouth opened and I ate pretty much everything she put in there

I’m the same today, I pretty much eat anything, except black licquorice… can’t stand the stuff!
